Texture, White and Pillows Please!

I'm feeling a wee bit tired!
All I can think about is an all white bedroom
And a touch of warmth and texture
Maybe something like this...

Or this...
Or perhaps this...?
And loads of stacked white pillows please

Goosie, Goosie

Here's a "feather light" feather pendant light!
Natural, circular and illuminated!
These lights are completely hand-handcrafted with up to
4000 individually selected (and cleaned I trust) goose feathers.
And apparently they don't get dusty!
I think they're pretty fantastic!

Baby Jacob's Chair

My darling friends welcomed little
Jacob Clarrie
to the world on Friday.
I think they should get this chair for his nursery.
The teeny model here is just the perfect sales tool!
Oh and I love the choice of upholstery!
Happy little child plus orange and olive combination equals
must-have!

Pretty Parcels, Presents & Packaging

I think that the presentation of a present is as important as the present itself!
I always try to make an effort when wrapping
parcels, presents and packages.
I also love it when I receive a present that seems too pretty and perfect to unwrap!
How about these "first impressions;"

I wonder what type of sporadic surprises hide within!

For all of the bookworms

I think these are pretty great!
And you can really use them {to write, to draw...etc}
I'm one of those people who always has a notebook handy...
in my handbag
in the car
by the phone
by my bed
post-its everywhere!
Who would have known that one necklace could solve the problem!

It's on its way... all the way to Cali!!!

Today clothcake had it's first international sale! I am feeling pretty chuffed!
I made a custom striped pink and white onesie for Joy's little one...

The process stared with a jumpsuit selection and then decisions on which clothcake Joy wanted...

Joy chose a version of my Vanilla Bean clothcake...
and this is how it turned out...
Sorry about the lighting... taken at night so that I can pop it straight into the post tomorrow!
Thank you Joy!

Pendant Light

How fabulous is this pendant light? The "Bendant Lamp" is a flat packed metal shade with a series of fragments which you can bend as you please to create the pendant shape to your own liking and also influence the shadow patterns.

They're made from lazer cut steel, are around 76cm long and 84cm wide and come powdercoated in silver, white and {my favourite} chartreuse!

Bend as you please...

and how they are shipped...

Ready for the weekend?

It's a beautiful spring day - 25 degrees already and it's not even 11am yet! Today will be spent preparing for the bodyshop at home party that my sister and I are throwing at my place tomorrow - there will be cupcakes and champagne {hence the cooking... we've got to make the cupcakes and purchase the champagne}
The party starts at 2:00pm tomorrow so I'm hoping to drop into the Rose Street Market in the morning before we begin setting up {it starts at 9am so there should be time; mainly to check out the cute shoes and to see whether clothcake would fit in there}

And tonight we'll cheer on our team the crows who are playing in an elimination final - "Carn the Crows!!!"

First real taste of spring

Today was a gorgeous day. We had the french doors open at the office to let spring in. I pulled out a brown, lime green and white summer dress and teamed it with a brown cardi and it got me thinking about spring/summer dresses... I really love this first one {it's oh so bubble-bee} but they're out of my size... probably a good thing otherwise it may have been on a plane to Australia! Dresses I'm dreaming about...

Green Fitout

A little while back I went to visit a carpet tile manufacturing factory and this is how their tiles have recently been used.

There's quite a bit going on here in this image... various colours appear on the floor and the upholstery on the ottomans and the wall and there's exposed brick and services and an "out-of-character" plant but I still like how it all comes together. I think my main problem is that we see all of these things in the one shot. I think each design feature would have looked spectacular if each was photographed with "breathing space" away from everything else.

Still, I really wanted to post this image because I especially love the white oblong drum pendants with the fabulous internal "park" images.

What do you think?

peeling {rather cutting} the onion

Paper cuts are gorgeous but imagine if we had the patience
to do this with all of our fruit and vegetables;

Corrugations

I have to tell you about my family friend Dudley Siviour! My family and I lived across the road from Dudley and his family for around 15 years. Quite a few years ago, Dudley stated making corrugated iron sculptures in the shed in his backyard. Dudley started teaching students to make the sculptures during his technology classes at a local high school and now he has started his own business called Corrugations. You can read more about Dudley and Corrugations here. Incidently, Dudley was MC at our wedding!

Anyway... you may have read (or seen) recently in the news that Australia's Governor-General Quentin Bryce presented two Kangaroos to the President of East Timor during the 10th anniversary celebrations of Timorese Independence - well they were Dudley's sculptures!!! So, Dudley's Kangaroos are now residing in the the Presidential Palace gardens!!!

Here's a few Kangaroos;

Here's the President, the Governor-General and the Corrugations Kangaroos on the 30th of August 2009;

And here are a few more of Dudley's fabulous sculptures;

Well done Dudley!
From Barrington Street to the Presidential Palace in East Timor!
Congratulations!
