Sydney Indesign
I'm off to Sydney in the morning to attend Indesign on Saturday! Tomorrow will be spent touring a carpet manufacturer's factory and attending a function. Saturday will be spent perusing showrooms and sipping champagne followed by dinner somewhere and Sunday is to be spent shopping!!! I can't wait!
Hopefully I will have a chance to check out the Ivy

Blue Wren from Mum
I got a card from Mum today. It has a blue wren on the front.
It says, on the back,"The Blue Wren is one of the most well known and appealing of Australia's small birds. Female and non-breeding males lack the brilliant blues but are equally exquisite in form."
Inside, amongst other things, it says "I have sent you a blue wren. It is my favourite little bird. I love it's blue colourings. (heart) Mum."
Thanks Mum, I love the Blue Wren too and Jeremy Boot is a very talented artist!

Tea Cup Lights
I fancy these tea cup lights! They're a bit "Mad-Hatter-esque!"
The above image hails from Tree Hugger. The below image is from British India, the Indian Restaurant just off the corner of Morphett and Gouger Streets in the Adelaide CBD.
They even have lamps fitted upside down so that the base is fixed to the ceiling in the Thali Room!

Rundle Street
The Bauhaus shopfront is looking so beautiful at the moment. I love everything about it; the textured lamp shades, the wall hanging and the credenza... oh if it didn't already have a sold sign on it! IMPRESSIVE BAUHAUS - I love your stuff!!!
A couple of doors down...
Mary Martin Bookshop always has a fun display... penguin classics at the moment and I love that it seems to be open all the time.
And just next door...
Sass & Bide has a skull eagle thing... I'm not really sure what's going on but it sure catches your eye!
Oh I love working just off Rundle Street!

Sticky Tape Sculptures
A friend of mine sent me an email with the above images today. I think they're amazing! I can't believe they're made just with sticky (cello, scotch) tape! I particularly love the swans!
P.S. There were no credits in the email so I can't credit the source. Please let me know if you know who made them!

Figs and Ginger
Figs and Ginger make lovely jewellery... And you can keep buying as the family grows. First there is one bird, then two love birds in a circle, then two birds and one chick then 4 chicks... Perhaps they should come to my house to live with my Rose Wood and Stainless Steel Brooch from Elk Accessories. I am a long time Elk fan and have quite a few of their jewellery pieces. I get at least one lovely comment every time I wear my little bird brooch. He brings smiles to almost any outfit!

Tom Dixon
I love Tom Dixon's designs! I especially love the copper pendant lights. In fact, I have used them in one of my projects (see below.) Tom has a new catalogue out and I find it very inspirational!
Here's how they featured in our design;

Origami
I went into Mary Martin Bookshop today and spied these little post-its on the front counter. I've been known to be a bit of a post-it-queen and seriously considered the purchase but origami is hard enough with large pieces of paper... can't imagine how difficult and time consuming it would be with post-its. Great idea though! You can get them from Mary Martin in Adelaide and Suck UK on line.

Beautiful Boleros
Right now I am in awe and adore the work of Elizabeth Dye. Look at just one of her beautiful boleros (and the wallpaper in the background might I add!)
And how about this one...
I know they're meant for weddings (I was married just over two years ago so it's a bit late for me) but I think they would be fantastic with a white singlet, jeans and heels too!
Please check out Elizabeth's blog (she's on my blog roll also; see the side bar.)
You won't be disappointed!
Happy Sunday!

The owl and the elephant
Last night I went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Yes it was a little long and perhaps not as action packed as the previous episodes by I thought it was the most humorous by far! I also loved the landscapes they featured in this one and I continue to love the concept of Owl Mail!
The little owl perched above reminds me of all things Potter (although perhaps a little lighter in colour than the film.) Hand stitched from varying textures with eyes perhaps just a little on the evil side. I love him! I found Kate Keeler (tiny warbler) on Fawn&Forest. Kate also made this little elephant and I thought he was also worth a mention!
The owl and the elephant - sounds like an Irish themed pub to me. Couldn't find one of them but I did find these...
